Peter Shead is the owner of Hillbrook, a property situated in Upper Allyn, approximately 90km northwest of Newcastle, New South Wales. The property is a wildlife sanctuary also used for recreation and agriculture, and it is Peter’s intent to maintain the property in his family name. Peter also intends to run a small herd of cattle on the property in the future.

The property covers approximately 259 hectares and largely consists of uncleared bushland and a few paddocks. Vegetation is dominated by eucalypt woodland and native grassland.

Wildlife found on the property includes swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), pademelons (Thylogale spp.), laughing kookaburras (Dacelo novaeguineae) and various lizards, snakes and native owls. No introduced bird species are found on the property.
