Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / QLD / Gabrielle’s Refuge

Gabrielle Friebe is the owner of a property situated in Yandina, approximately 17km northwest of Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The property is a residence and wildlife sanctuary as well as a rescue and rehabilitation site for flying-foxes. Gabrielle intends to improve the biodiversity values of the property through weed removal and bush regeneration.

The property spans approximately 0.81 hectares across a mostly forested block and features a small waterway close to the road boundary. The property forms part of a wildlife corridor connecting to Mapleton Conservation Park, and largely consists of eucalypt woodland.

Wildlife known to inhabit the property includes swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor) and a wide range of native birds including Wompoo fruit-doves (Ptilinopus magnificus).
