Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Somewhere Unique

Somewhere Unique consists of two one-bedroom self-contained retreats. They are set on a private 20-acre bushland property in the NSW Hunter Valley, taking full advantage of the tranquil setting and proximity to native flora and fauna. ‘Somewhere Unique’ was the first accommodation property in Hunter Valley Wine Country to achieve Ecotourism Certification through Ecotourism Australia.

The one-bedroom retreats feature bamboo flooring and custom wood furnishings, along with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and iPhone docks. All offer two person soaking tubs, kitchens, washer/dryers and gas fireplaces, as well as valley-view private decks with BBQs. Complimentary wine and breakfast provisions are provided and in-room massages can be arranged.

Julia and Nick Brooke are the owners of Somewhere Unique, which was the first accommodation property in the Hunter Valley Wine Country to achieve EcoTourism certification through Ecotourism Australia. Julia and Nick conduct an annual review of the property’s carbon footprint and offset this through Greenfleet.

Somewhere Unique covers approximately 8 hectares of natural bushland dominated by eucalypt woodlands. Wildlife known to inhabit the area include common wallaroos (Macropus robustus) bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), and a variety of native birdlife.
