Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Andy’s Creek

Located in Killongbutta, approximately 30km northwest of Bathurst, Andy’s Creek is an untouched sanctuary for native habitat and wildlife owned by Sue Balemans.  Sue’s intention is for the sanctuary to remain untouched as natural bushland well into the future.

The sanctuary covers 40.5 hectares, with the predominant habitat type consisting of native forest. Eucalypt covered hills and grasslands run down to the Macquarie river, which borders the property. Wildlife present includes red-necked wallabies (Macropus rufogriseus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus) and a wide variety of bird species.
