Duncan and Suzie Campbell are the owners of Bombah Point Eco Cottages, a property located approximately 15km south east of Bulahdelah. The property is a gazetted Wildlife Refuge and offers eco-friendly accommodation in the form of sustainable glass and timber cottages architecturally designed to respect the natural environment and to celebrate the unique heritage of their surrounds. It is Duncan and Suzie’s intent for the property to continue to be used for its current purposes and to plant more native vegetation to attract a greater variety of birdlife.
Bombah Point Eco Cottages covers 40 hectares of bushland contiguous with the Myall Lakes National Park. Vegetation consists mainly of eucalypt woodlands and walking trails on the property connect with National Park trails. The property also contains an orchard, vegetable garden and a chicken pen. Guests are encouraged to feed the chooks and harvest from the gardens for meals during their stay.
Wildlife species known to inhabit the property include swamp (Wallabia bicolor) and red-necked (Macropus rufogriseus) wallabies, eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus), lace monitors (Varanus varius), brush turkeys (Alectura lathami) as well as a range of snakes and many birds.
