Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Cloudlands

Cloudlands is a restored Old Writer’s Retreat, offering elegant and spacious self-contained accommodation for 2-8 people. There are 4 bedrooms in total with some themed on Australian wildflowers – 2 double rooms with queen beds and 2 twin rooms.

Situated next to the Blue Mountains National Park, the sanctuary is abundant in wildlife and is set in over an acre of old terraced escarpment garden, which leads down to Prince Henry Cliff Walk.

Anne Elliott is the owner of Cloudlands, which covers 0.4 hectares of natural bushland on an escarpment and adjoins the Blue Mountains National Park with vegetation dominated by eucalypt forest. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary and a former writer’s retreat offering eco-friendly accommodation. It is Anne’s intent for it to continue to be used for the benefit of the local environment, with Anne installing forty-two solar panels to generate solar energy for the property.

Wildlife known to inhabit the area include bowerbirds (Ptilonorhynchus spp.), superb lyrebirds (Menura novaehollandiae), Australian king parrots (Alisterus scapularis) and a variety of other birdlife.
