Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Jack and Jennifer’s Refuge

Jack Haley and Jennifer Douglas are the owners of a property located approximately 75km north of Goulburn, NSW.  The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary with in-perpetuity protection through a Voluntary Conservation Agreement with the New South Wales Office of Environment and Heritage.  It is Jack’s and Jennifer’s intent to continue with the sanctuary’s current purpose.

The property covers 150 hectares of uncleared open forest, with predominant vegetation including small eucalypts, banksias and a wide variety of understory plants.  Examples of wildlife species known to occur on the property include eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), red-necked wallabies (Macropus rufogriseus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), lace monitors (Varanus varius) as well as the endangered Rosenberg’s goanna (Varanus rosenbergi), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus) and a wide range of bird species including the endangered powerful owl (Ninox strenua).
