Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Coral’s Refuge

Coral Johnson is the owner of a property located approximately 40km north of Coffs Harbour.  The property is a home and dedicated wildlife sanctuary, and it is Coral’s intent to preserve her sanctuary as is to provide habitat for native fauna.

The sanctuary covers 15.5 hectares, approximately two-thirds of which is comprised of mature hardwood species and dry sclerophyll forest, with the property also featuring a disused banana plantation which is now naturally regenerating.

Wildlife is abundant on the sanctuary, with species known to be present including red-necked (Macropus rufogriseus) and swamp (Wallabia bicolor) wallabies, eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), brushtail (Trichosurus vulpecula) and ringtail possums (Pseudocheirus peregrinus), as well as sugar (Petaurus breviceps) and feathertail (Acrobates pygmaeus) gliders.
