A wildlife-friendly refuge used for wildlife rehabilitation and agriculture

Description

Lee Kingston is the owner of a property located approximately 15km northwest of Ballina. The property is a wildlife-friendly refuge used for wildlife rehabilitation and agriculture, and it is Lee's intent to revegetate it with native species and create a wildlife corridor with neighbouring properties.

The sanctuary covers approximately 2 hectares, featuring formerly cleared pasture and remnant subtropical rainforest. Wildlife species known to occur on the property include wedge-tailed eagles (Aquila audax), long-nosed bandicoots (Perameles nasuta), spotted-tailed quolls (Dasyurus maculatus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), brush-turkeys (Alectura lathami), flying-foxes, black cockatoos, pythons, yellow-faced whipsnakes (Demansia psammophis), and red-bellied black snakes (Pseudechis porphyriacus).
