Denise Morgan and Peter Dickens are the owners of Old Gap, a property located in Manton, approximately 10km east of Yass, NSW. The property is adjacent to Mundoonen Nature Reserve and is currently being utilized as a wildlife sanctuary and rehabilitation area. It is Denise and Peter’s intention to secure the property as a wildlife sanctuary and continue their wildlife rehabilitation efforts. Denise and Peter are also the owners of Pirli and Kangaroo Keep, existing WLT sanctuaries dedicated to wildlife rehabilitation and bush regeneration.

Old Gap covers approximately 107.6 hectares and is bordered on two sides by Mundoonen Nature Reserve. Three quarters of the property consists of eucalypt woodland with one quarter consisting of pasture. Old Gap features various water sources including two dams and several small natural springs. The vegetation is largely composed of eucalypts such as scribbly gum (Eucalyptus rossii) and red stringybark (Eucalyptus macrorhyncha), wattles (Acacia spp.), and various native grasses.

Wildlife found throughout the sanctuary includes eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), common wallaroos (Macropus robustus), red-necked wallabies (Macropus rufogriseus), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), red bellied black (Pseudechis porphyriacus) and eastern brown (Pseudonaja textilis) snakes, wedge-tailed eagles (Aquila audax), eastern long-necked turtles (Chelodina longicollis), Cunningham’s skinks (Egernia cunninghami), shingleback lizards (Tiliqua rugosa), powerful owls (Ninox strenua), ringtail (Pseudocheirus peregrinus) and brushtail (Trichosurus vulpecula) possums and sugar gliders (Petaurus breviceps).
