Description

Bruce and Elise Porter are the owners of Olpoa Park, a property located approximately 40km south east of Goulburn. The property is a dedicated wildlife-friendly sanctuary, and it is Bruce and Elise's intent to continue to utilise Olpoa Park for recreation and wildlife rehabilitation purposes.

The property covers 176 hectares of virgin bushland with 7 dams and billabongs providing water sources for wildlife. Vegetation types include species of eucalypt and other gums, banksias, revilleas, wattles (Acacia spp.), tea trees and native flower species, as well as grass trees (Xanthorrhoea spp.) and native grasses.

Wildlife species known to inhabit the sanctuary include short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), gang-gang cockatoos (Callocephalon fimbriatum), yellow-tailed (Calyptorhynchus funereus) black cockatoos, bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), superb fairy-wrens (Malurus cyaeus), and a wide variety of other native wildlife such as snakes, frogs and wattlebirds.
