A dedicated wildlife sanctuary and home bordered by bushland

Description

Jillian Power and Ian Incoll are the owners of Fernbank, a property located in Lisarow, approximately 10km Northeast of Gosford.  The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary and home bordered by bushland, and it is Jillian and Ian's intent to eventually revegetate a significant portion of the property.  Fernbank is protected from development through being zoned 7c2 (scenic protection-rural small holdings) by the Gosford City Council.

The sanctuary covers approximately 2.02 hectares, predominantly comprised of grassed paddock which Jillian and Ian plan to begin revegetating with native seedlings.  Wildlife known to occur on the property includes short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), wallabies, laughing kookaburras (Dacelo novaeguineae), tawny frogmouths (Podargus strigoides), regent honeyeaters (Xanthomyza phrygia), and a wide range of native reptiles such as green tree snakes (Dendrelaphis punctulata), eastern water dragons (Physignathus lesueurii lesueurii) and green tree frogs (Litoria caerulea).
