Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Jaloran

Jens and Lisa Stephan are the owners of Jaloran, a property situated approximately 20km northeast of Cooma, NSW. Jens and Lisa are in the process of removing barbed wire installed by previous owners as to improve the sanctuary’s safety for native wildlife, and they are also undertaking extensive revegetation efforts in order to stem the erosion and lengthen the vegetated wildlife corridor between the nature reserve and the river.

Jaloran covers 60.7 hectares and is bordered on one side by the Numeralla River. Wildlife found on the sanctuary includes eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus) and a wide variety of native birds.
