Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Growwild

Peter and Sue Stewart are the owners of Growwild, a property located approximately 40km West of Wollongong. The property was purchased with the intent of operating wildflower farm from which Peter and Sue supply cut native flowers to Sydney Markets.  It is their intention to increase the intensiveness of the native flower cultivation, but leave the uncleared bush in its current state for use by wildlife.

The sanctuary covers approximately 10.2 hectares, which is made up of approximately 7 hectares of uncleared, undulating bush, and 3 hectares set aside for a residence and to operate the wildflower farm.

Wildlife present on Growwild includes swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), eastern pygmy (Cercartetus nanus), ringtail (Pseudocheirus peregrinus) and brushtail (Trichosurus vulpecula) possums, crimson (Platycercus elegans) and eastern (Platycercus eximius) rosellas, sulphur-crested (Cacatua galerita) and palm (Probosciger aterrimus) cockatoos, king parrots  (Alisterus scapularis) and a wide variety of other native bird species.
