Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Flinty Ridge Farm

Dianne and Peter Ward are the owners of Flinty Ridge Farm, a property located in Dirty Creek, approximately 45km North of Coffs Harbour. The property is a home and dedicated wildlife sanctuary currently being used for wildlife rehabilitation as a WIRES release site. It is Dianne and Peter’s intention to preserve Flinty Ridge Farm as wildlife habitat forever. They have been the owners of the property, which aside from the house area is undisturbed, for some 25 years.

The sanctuary covers approximately 2.8 hectares predominantly comprised of mature hardwood species, dry sclerophyll forest and intermittent riparian areas.  Known wildlife inhabitants include eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), swamp (Wallabia bicolor) and red-necked (Macropus rufogriseus) wallabies, ringtail possums (Pseudocheirus peregrinus), gliders (Petaurus spp.), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), quolls (Dasyurus spp.), and a wide range of reptile and bird species.
