Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Waarna

Roy and Wendy Adams are wildlife carers and the owners of Waarna, a property located in Cowra, approximately 120km southwest of Bathurst, New South Wales.  The property was formerly a farm stay but is now a dedicated wildlife sanctuary and rehabilitation and release site.  It is Roy and Wendy’s intent to encourage native birds onto the refuge by planting flowering native species.

The sanctuary covers approximately 33.6 hectares which is predominantly grassland with few trees, however Roy and Wendy plan to revegetate areas to encourage wildlife onto the refuge.  Wildlife species known to be present on Warnaa includes eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), possums and a variety of native bird species.
