Description

Marwa Hudson is the owner of Zum Zum, a property situated in Shannon’s Flat, approximately 40km nortwest of Cooma, New South Wales. The property is a dedicated habitat restoration site and wildlife sanctuary, also used for agriculture and as a residence. Marwa intends to continue restoring the native vegetation whilst maintaining the property for its current purposes.

The property covers approximately 104 hectares of dry sclerophyll forest in an alpine climate. Dominant vegetation species include black sallys (Eucalyptus stellulata), red gums (E. camaldulensis), snow gums (E. pauciflora), apple gums (E. bridgesiana) peppermint gums (E. radiata) and grevilleas.

A range of native species are present including bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor) and spotted-tailed quolls (Dasyurus maculatus). A vast array of birds and reptiles are also present seasonally.
