Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Lantana Gulch Regen R Us

Barry and Mary Ferguson are the owners of Lantana Gulch Regen R Us, a property situated in Goonengerry, approximately 25km west of Byron Bay, New South Wales. The property is both a residence and a dedicated refuge for native species. Barry and Mary are currently working with Byron Shire Council to ensure fire protection for the house and protect and propagate red bopple-nut (Hicksbeachia pinnatifolia) on the property. In the long term they plan to become the base for bush regeneration in their local region.

The property spans approximately 4.05 hectares of partially restored bushland, predominately native brushbox interspersed with various rainforest species. Barry and Mary are currently working to eradicate invasive camphor laurel (Cinnamomum camphora) and coral trees (Erythrina sykesii) from the property to support native vegetation.

A wide range of wildlife is present on the property including koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus), lace monitors (Varanus varius), red-legged pademelons (Thylogale stigmatica) and a vast array of birdlife.
