A wildlife sanctuary and rehabilitation site

Description

Gill Brownhill is the owner of Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, a property located approximately 15km southwest of Noosaville.  The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary which is also used for wildlife rehabilitation, and it is Gill’s intent for the property to continue with these uses.  Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is also registered with the Land for Wildlife program.

The property covers 4.05 hectares, approximately half of which is comprised of bushland, one quarter dedicated to wildlife rehabilitation, and the remainder awaiting revegetation.

Examples of wildlife species known to occur on Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre include dozens of species of birds, northern brown bandicoots (Isoodon macrourus), eastern water dragons (Physignathus lesueurii), eastern bearded dragons (Pogona barbata), blue-tongued skinks (Tiliqua scincoides scincoides), eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), ringtail (Pseudocheirus peregrinus) and bobuck (Trichosurus cunninghami) possums, short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), various snake species and more.
