A residence, hobby farm and wildlife-friendly sanctuary

Description

David and Susan Knight are the owners of Clair-Bella, a property located approximately 25km southwest of Maryborough. The property is a residence and dedicated wildlife sanctuary, and it is David and Susan's intent for it to continue to be managed for conservation. The property has been used to support injured native wildlife for many years, and David and Susan will continue to support local wildlife populations.

The property includes two dams and has a protective corridor of large native gum and iron bark (Eucalyptus paniculata) trees and fruit trees. Wildlife species known to occur on Clair-Bella include emus (Dromaius novaehollandiae) and a variety of mammals such as eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus), brushtail (Trichosurus vulpecula) and ringtail (Pseudocheirus peregrinus) possums, yellow-bellied (Petaurus australis) and other gliders, three species of bat, a large variety of reptiles and frogs, and more than 165 identified bird species.
