Description

Kevin Lawson is the owner of a property located approximately 25km north of Howard. The property is a wildlife-friendly sanctuary as well as a residence used for passive recreation. It is Kevin's intent for the property to continue to be used for its current purposes.

The property covers 1.24 hectares with frontage to the Isis River. Vegetation is primarily described as wallum and includes bloodwoods (Corymbia spp.), stringybarks (Eucalyptus spp.), woodgate grey gums (Eucalyptus propinqua), she-oaks (Casuarina spp.), wattles (Acacia spp.), melaleuca trees (Melaleuca spp.), cabbage gums (Eucalyptus amplifolia), mahogany gums (Eucalyptus spp.) and typical wallum plants from shrubs to groundcovers.

Wildlife species known to inhabit the property include eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), lace monitors (Varanus varius), carpet pythons (Morelia spilota), red-bellied black snakes (Pseudechis porphyriacus), other small snakes, dingoes (Canis dingo), and an abundance of bird life. A freshwater dam provides an importance water source for wildlife and contains many fish and turtles.
