Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / QLD / Sun and Stars

Paul and Lina Molesworth are the owners of Sun and Stars, a property located approximately 25km southeast of Gatton. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary used for recreation and featuring a private orchard. It is Paul and Lina’s intent to restore subtropical rain forest on the property to be reserved for education, as well as developing the tropical fruit orchard.

The property covers 10 hectares of hilly land with a northeast aspect and sandy clay soils. Remnants of subtropical dry rainforest exist, as well as stands of mountain scrub.

Examples of wildlife species known to occur on Sun and Stars include red-necked wallabies (Macropus rufogriseus), flying foxes, whip birds (Psophodes olivaceus), native finches, eastern brown snakes (Pseudonaja textilis) and pythons, rufous rat-kangaroos (Aepyprymnus rufescens), and a small range of predatory birds.
