Reid Dryden is the owner of H&R Sanctuary, a property located approximately 30km west of Noosa, Queensland. The property is a residence and dedicated wildlife sanctuary, and it is Reid’s intent to conserve the sanctuary’s wildlife habitat values. H&R Sanctuary is also a member of the Land for Wildlife program, and the property is protected in-perpetuity with a Voluntary Conservation Agreement (VCA).
The sanctuary covers 5.62 hectares of undulating land, approximately 0.8 hectares of which is used as a house site. The remainder of the property is predominantly covered by native vegetation and the owner has planted many native trees and shrubs with the help of Noosa Landcare.
Wildlife species for which H & R Sanctuary is known to provide habitat include red-necked wallabies (Macropus rufogriseus), koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus), northern brown bandicoots (Isoodon macrourus), frogs, lace monitors (Varanus varius), brush turkeys (Alectura lathami), mountain brushtail possums (Trichosurus cunninghami), flying-foxes and a wide variety of bird species.
