Jessica Pettitt Frazer and Angus Frazer are the owners of Ironstone Creek Farm, a property situated in Tuchekoi, approximately 50km northwest of Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The property is used for agriculture, recreation and as a dedicated wildlife sanctuary, and it is Jessica and Angus’ intention to continue their permaculture enterprise whilst maintaining the existing habitat for wildlife.
The property covers approximately 43.7 hectares of ex-grazing land now utilised as a permaculture site and wildlife refuge. Vegetation largely consists of open grassland, subtropical rainforest and dry acacia woodland, with a small patch identified as an endangered regional ecological community.
Wildlife known to inhabit the property includes swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), red-bellied black snakes (Pseudechis porphyriacus), carpet pythons (Morelia spilota) and a range of small marsupials. A variety of birdlife is also present including black cockatoos (Calyptorhynchus spp.), rainbow bee-eaters (Merops ornatus), fairy-wrens (Malurus spp.) and other small birds.
