Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / QLD / Rocky Gorge

Greg and Diane Spearritt are the owners of Rocky Gorge, a property situated in White Mountain, approximately 25km northeast of Toowoomba, Queensland. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary also used for recreation, and it is Greg and Diane’s intention to maintain it as a habitat for wildlife. The property is additionally registered with Land for Wildlife.

The property covers approximately 101 hectares on sandstone gorge country populated by eucalypt woodland. Vegetation has remained ungrazed and notable species include four-tailed grevilleas (Grevillea quadricauda) and foxtail ferns (Caustis blakei subsp. macrantha).

An abundance of wildlife is also present on the sanctuary including the large forest bat (Vespadelus darlingtoni).
