Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / QLD / Gavin and Sue’s Refuge

Gavin and Sue Ellis are the owners of a property in Moolboolaman, approximately 70km west of Bundaberg, Queensland. The property is a residence and wildlife sanctuary, and the owners intend to preserve it for these purposes. Gavin and Sue are currently involved in planting native species to attract more wildlife to the property.

The property covers approximately 23.56 hectares of hilly country featuring steep ravines. Vegetation is dominated by eucalypt and hoop pine (Araucaria cunninghamii) woodland.

Wildlife on the property includes wallabies, short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus), spotted-tailed quolls (Dasyurus maculatus maculatus), gliders and a wide variety of native birds and reptiles.
