Description

Jane Wymer is the owner of Brigadoon, a property situated in Boyne Valley, approximately 80km south of Gladstone, Queensland. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary and forms a critical wildlife corridor for the bordering Bulburin National Park. Jane intends to maintain the property as a wildlife sanctuary for the benefit of native flora and fauna.

The property spans 2,400 hectares and forms part of the Many Peaks Range. It borders Bulburin National Park on its northern and southern boundaries, forming a wildlife corridor between the two arms of the national park. Vegetation is largely comprised of eucalypt woodland, with one area consisting of subtropical rainforest.

A wide variety of native wildlife is present, including eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), red-necked (M. rufogriseus), whiptail (M. parryi) and swamp (Wallabia bicolor) wallabies, yellow-bellied gliders (Petaurus australis), dingoes (Canis lupus dingo), various reptiles and a large assortment of birds including wedge tailed eagles (Aquila audax), nankeen kestrels (Falco cenchroides), glossy (Calyptorhynchus lathami), red-tailed (C. banksii)and yellow-tailed (C. funereus) black cockatoos, eastern koels (Eudynamys orientalis), wompoo fruit doves (Ptilinopus magnificus), rainbow bee-eaters (Merops ornatus) and scarlet honeyeaters (Myzomela sanguinolenta).
