Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / QLD / Craig’s Sanctuary

Craig Thomson is the owner of a property situated in Bollier, approximately 50 kilometres northwest of Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The property is a residence and dedicated wildlife sanctuary, also used for tourism and agriculture. Craig wishes to maintain the land for these purposes and plans to improve the block’s existing habitat for the benefit of local fauna. The land is additionally registered with Land for Wildlife.

The property covers 27 hectares of undulating, previously farmed land interspersed with remnant patches of notophyll vine scrub and dry sclerophyll woodland.

Wildlife is abundant and includes koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus), eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), red-necked (Macropus rufogriseus) and swamp (Wallabia bicolor) wallabies, short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), northern brown (Isoodon macrourus) and long-nosed (Perameles nasuta) bandicoots, pobblebonk frogs (Limnodynastes dumerilii), carpet pythons (Morelia spilota), eastern brown snakes (Pseudonaja textilis) and red-bellied black snakes (Pseudechis porphyriacus).
