Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / TAS / Apsley

Lynda and Paul Williams are the owners of Apsley, a property situated in Seymour, approximately 20km north of Bicheno, Tasmania. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary and recreation site, often used for wildlife spotting. Paul and Lynda wish to maintain the property’s natural values for these purposes and for the benefit of native wildlife.

Apsley covers 0.6 hectares on a residential block surrounded by bushland and close to the Douglas-Apsley National Park. Flora is characterized as remnant dry coastal vegetation.

A wide range of wildlife is found on the property including Tasmanian devils (Sarcophilus harrisii), Tasmanian pademelons (Thylogale billardierii), Bennett’s wallabies (Macropus rufogriseus), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus) and white-bellied sea eagles (Haliaeetus leucogaster).
