Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / VIC / Anna and Richard’s Refuge

Anna Filipi and Richard Musumeci are the owners of a property located in approximately 25km west of Kyneton. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary used for recreation, tourism, and as a residence. It is Anna and Richard’s intent for the sanctuary to continue providing habitat for a range of native wildlife species.

The property covers 16.19 hectares predominantly comprised of open sclerophyll forest, with major vegetation types including white (Eucalyptus quadrangulata) and yellow (Eucalyptus melliodora) box gums, native orchids, and heathland.

Examples of wildlife species known to occur on the property include eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), ringtail (Pseudocheirus peregrinus) and brushtail (Trichosurus vulpecula) possums, a variety of frogs, snakes and bats, and a wide range of bird life such as crimson rosellas (Platycercus elegans), owls and parrots.
