Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / VIC / Murragamba

Denise and Glenn Twitt are the owners of Murragamba, a property located approximately 125km northeast of Melbourne.  The property was purchased with the purpose of being a holiday home, and it is Denise and Glenn’s intent to maintain a safe environment for native wildlife on the land.

The sanctuary covers approximately 4.2 hectares densely vegetated by tea trees (Leptospermum spp.), wattles (Acacia spp.) and large gums (Eucalyptus spp.).  Wildlife known to be present on Murragamba includes eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), common brushtail (Trichosurus vulpecula) and ringtail (Pseudocheirus peregrinus) possums, bats, numerous reptiles and a wide variety of bird life.
