Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / VIC / Sue’s Place

Sue Wansbrough is the owner of a property located approximately 50km East of Melbourne. The property is primarily a home and dedicated wildlife sanctuary, and Sue is considering placing a legally binding covenant on title in the future. Sue intends to continue revegetating the riparian area of the property with indigenous plants.

The sanctuary covers approximately 4.05 hectares which is predominantly made up of native vegetation including eucalypt, fern and various other species.  The wildlife species present on the property are numerous and include swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), king parrots (Alisterus scapularis), crimson rosellas (Platycercus elegans) and a wide range of additional native bird species.
