Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / VIC / Sue’s Refuge

Sue Wansbrough is the owner of a property located in Monbulk, approximately 50km East of Melbourne.  The property is solely a dedicated wildlife sanctuary, featuring very high quality native bushland which is believed to never have been logged.  Sue is considering placing a legally binding covenant on title in the future.

The sanctuary covers approximately 4.05 hectares, the entirety of which is made up of native vegetation including eucalypt, fern and various other species.  The wildlife species present on the property are numerous and include swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), king parrots (Alisterus scapularis), crimson rosellas (Platycercus elegans) and a wide range of additional native bird species.
