A residence and tourist accommodation as well as a dedicated wildlife sanctuary

Fiona Lindsay is the owner of Mittagong Homestead, a property situated in Fawcett, approximately 134km northeast of Melbourne, Victoria. The property is a residence and tourist accommodation as well as a dedicated wildlife sanctuary. Some areas of the property are also used for grazing a neighbouring farmer’s llamas. Fiona intends to maintain the sanctuary for its current uses, with plans to regenerate some areas of the native bushland.

The property covers approximately 48.48 hectares and consists of six undulating grassy paddocks interspersed with native and introduced trees and shrubs. The property features three small dams which provide water for wildlife and native vegetation mainly consists of Eucalypt species.

Wildlife found on the property includes eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus) and brushtail (Trichosurus vulpecula) and ringtail (Pseudocheirus peregrinus) possums.
