Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / VIC / Lothlorien

Caroline Murray is the owner of Lothlorien, a property situated in Henty, approximately 60km west of Hamilton, Victoria. The property is managed by Richard Lane as a residence, wildlife sanctuary and wildlife rehabilitation site. It is the owner’s intention to allow the existing habitat to regenerate for the benefit of local native species.

Lothlorien spans 15 hectares of mixed remnant scrub, regenerated habitat and cleared land. Native vegetation is largely dominated by eucalypts, acacias, sheoaks and some bracken fern.

Wildlife found on the property includes eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), emus (Dromaius novaehollandiae) and short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), as well as native snakes, lizards and a variety of birds.
