Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / WA / Cheryl and Rob’s Refuge

Cheryl and Rob Bettridge are the owners of Cheryl and Rob’s Refuge, a 4 hectare property located approximately 30km south-East of Perth.  The property was purchased with the intent of being a home and dedicated native wildlife sanctuary used for wildlife rehabilitation. Cheryl is a wildlife carer and intends to continue to conserve the native bushland found on her property.

The refuge is heavily treed native bushland backing on to a National Park, and wildlife known to be present on the property includes western grey kangaroos (Macropus fuliginosus), bobtail lizards (Tiliqua rugosa), and a plethora of bird species such as Australian magpies (Cracticus tibicen), red-tailed black cockatoos (Calyptorhynchus banksii), robins (Petroicida spp.), laughing kookaburras (Dacelo novaeguineae) and tawny frogmouths (Podargus strigoides).
