Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / WA / Russell and Anne’s Refuge

Russell and Anne Kopp are the owners of a property located approximately 25km south of Manjimup.  The property is a home, wildlife sanctuary and the site of a cabinet making business.  It is Russell and Anne’s intent to maintain the sanctuary, which is also registered as a Land for Wildlife property, purely for conservation purposes.

The sanctuary covers 35.21 hectares of marri (Corymbia calophylla), Western Australian blackbutt (Eucalyptus patens) and karri (Eucalyptus diversicolor) forest on a sloping block featuring a gully dam.  Known wildlife inhabitants include western tiger snakes (Notechis scutatus occidentalis), dugites (Pseudonaja affinis), possums, white-tailed black cockatoos (Calyptorhynchus baudinii), western grey kangaroos (Macropus fuliginosus), native ducks, wedge-tailed eagles (Aquila audax), red-tailed phascogales (Phascogale calura), bush rats (Rattus fuscipes fuscipes), bobtails (Tiliqua rugosa), and a variety of native bird and frog species.
