Volunteer wildlife carers rescue and rehabilitate thousands of animals across Australia every year. These carers are licensed and trained to care for a wide range of native species, in most cases with the aim to return them to the wild.

Approximately 40% of Australian Wildlife Land Trust members are actively involved in wildlife care and rehabilitation, showcasing the important link between caring for injured or orphaned animals and having adequate habitat available for their continued survival.

The WLT has additionally been a sponsor of the last six Australian Wildlife Rehabilitation Conferences (AWRC), and often present talks about wildlife carers and their role in conservation. For more information on the AWRC, click here
